Where SyftLock picks up“Every blocker I tried lets me put a password in or ignore the limits.”
- Finding 01Make it impossible to cheat.
Both students we interviewed quit blockers they could skip. SyftLock has no password and no “ignore limit” button, and restarting the phone doesn’t break a lock.
- Finding 02Keep it free.
0% of the 60 students we surveyed said they wouldn’t pay for a focus app, so everything a student needs costs $0.
- Finding 03Make it social.
Self-control alone gets old fast, our interviewees said, but they’d join a friendly competition. So every locked minute counts toward a league.
Three moves. Zero willpower.

Your club vs. theirs.
Focus is easier when your team is counting on you. Every member’s locked minutes roll into a weekly league for school clubs, classes and remote teams. A coach, teacher or manager can start one in under a minute.
- Standings reset every Monday
- Badges for streaks and personal bests
- Leaders see team totals, never what you were doing

Can I just turn it off?
Not from your phone, and that’s the point. There is no password and no “ignore limit” button, and restarting won’t end a lock. Your session ends on schedule. Emergency calls and SOS always work.
Is it really free?
Yes. Everything a student needs is free. Plus adds extras for $4.99 a month, schools and teams pay per seat, and the gear is optional.
Do I have to buy the gear?
No. Every feature works with just the app. The Coil, Wrap and Fang are shortcuts for people who want tap-to-lock.
What can my coach, teacher or boss see?
Only team totals, like “Robotics Club locked out for 398 hours this week.” Never your apps, messages or history.
Why a snake?
A snake doesn’t let go once it locks on. Our SL mark turns the S into a striking snake with a fang, and the L is cut like a blade. The one on this page has been following you since the top.
